Secret conversations between the minister and the president? Surprising facts came to light

The Network Act is intended to facilitate the connection of renewable energy sources (RES) installations and improve the development of electricity networks. The goal is to shorten the queues of companies waiting to be connected.

However, the industry has doubts – the regulations impose very short investment implementation deadlines, which may be difficult to meet in the Polish administrative reality. For this reason, the parliamentary committees on deregulation and energy have suspended work on the project for now.

However, the Minister of Energy does not give up. Miłosz Motyka met unofficially with MPs and tried to convince them to support the network bill. The politician allegedly stated that the project should not be significantly modified, otherwise it would be vetoed by Karol Nawrocki. – This was an obvious suggestion that the project was negotiated with the president – said one of the meeting participants in an interview with “Rzeczpospolita”.

– It was absolutely an internal meeting. Parliamentarians were informed that talks are underway with the president, the shape of the regulations has been negotiated with him and if the Sejm decides on a more open option, the president will veto this bill – added another.

Did the minister consult the act with Nawrocki?

The Chancellery of the President did not want to comment on the reports that Miłosz Motyka is conducting behind-the-scenes negotiations with Karol Nawrocki. Pursuant to applicable regulations, only information relating to the state existing as at the date of providing the answer is public information. The provisions do not cover questions regarding plans, announcements or hypothetical courses of action of public authorities, the statement said.

The Minister of Energy assures that there were no consultations with the Presidential Palace. – During the meeting in the Sejm, I referred to the official statements of the president’s representatives. I explained that we hear about support for the direction of change. I did not say that the draft in its unchanged form has a chance of being signed, but the draft with amendments that go in the right direction – he assured journalists.
