Get to know Ralswiek located on the Great Jasmund Bay, which is part of the Baltic Sea on the island of Rügen in Germany. The village offers picturesque landscapes, but also a unique attraction. Ralswiek tempts adventure lovers
Ralswiek, located on an island, guarantees a completely different climate than Świnoujście or Władysławowo, or even the Hel Peninsula. It particularly stands out thanks to the Störtebeker Festival, an open-air spectacle about the adventures of the legendary pirate Klaus Störtebeker. The village exudes a pirate atmosphere throughout the holidays. In the evening, in the distance you can see burning torches, smoke and men in historical costumes riding on horses.
The event has attracted tourists every summer for over 30 years. The artists perform against the backdrop of the Bodden landscape, a unique ecosystem of shallow, inland sea bays. Moreover, you can expect picturesque sunrises and sunsets, shows with acrobatics, horsemen and fireworks are a great variety of spending free time.
The village on the Baltic Sea also has charm beyond the festival
The village of Ralswiek does not live only with the festival, and for some people it may be a dream place for a quiet holiday only after the holidays. There are few places to stay, so you won’t meet many tourists. During the trip, you can organize hiking trails leading through the forests and along the Bodden lagoon.
Another attraction worth attention is the Ralswiek Castle, which currently serves as a hotel and impresses with its fairy-tale architecture.
