Scandal during the Poland-Netherlands match. After the match was interrupted due to flares thrown on the pitch, politicians began to throw accusations at each other. Meanwhile, the police have revealed new information.

On Friday evening, November 14, Poles faced the Dutch national team in the World Cup qualifiers. The match played in Warsaw became famous due to the scandalous behavior of some fans.

In the second half, the match was interrupted for a few minutes. Flares were thrown onto the PGE Narodowy pitch and the players had to leave the pitch. There were reports on social media that the incident was supposed to be a form of protest by fans, because the services did not allow the previously prepared fixtures to be brought into the stands.

Poland – Netherlands. Scandal at PGE Narodowy

Many PiS politicians defended the fans. Voices of support also came from the Confederation. Ewa Zajączkowska-Hernik stated that she had received information that allegedly “the government blocked the broadcast in revenge for Donald Tusk’s criticism during the Poland-Lithuania match.”

However, the Confederation MEP did not provide any evidence to confirm these reports. “Stop embarrassing yourselves, stop using your stupid censorship and allow patriotic atmosphere in the stadium. Let the support for the Polish team be as good as possible,” the politician appealed.

He made a similar statement Grzegorz Braun. In the opinion of the MEP, the situation before the Poland-Netherlands match is clear proof that “Poles are not hosts in their own country and the services subordinate to Donald Tusk treat Polish patriots as intruders and second-class citizens.”

Poland – Netherlands. KO politicians outraged

KO politicians assess the situation completely differently. “These are not patriots, they are idiots. Apparently, to please Nawrocki, the Polish Football Association invites football fans. How was it supposed to end? Good?” – asked the deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk.

The head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration also commented on the matter. “Recently, the police have broken up several hooligan criminal groups. Drugs, extortion, etc. Yesterday, hooligans interrupted the match of the Polish national team. I don’t understand politicians who are proud of supporting this type of pathology,” he admitted. Marcin Kierwiński.

On the other hand Roman Giertych decided to take advantage of the opportunity and stab Karol Nawrocki. “Yesterday the fans didn’t throw flares to stop the match, embarrass us all and expose us to penalties. They were only expressing their veto. Like their idol.
The time of the apotheosis of idiotism has come in Poland,” said the patron.

Storm after the Poland-Netherlands match. Police statement

The capital police issued a statement regarding incidents related to the Poland-Netherlands match. The statement emphasized that “due to the fact that the match held at the PGE National Stadium was attended by, among others, supporter groups of various Polish football teams, the event had a high-risk status.”

“This also means the need to conduct inspections in a way that eliminates as much as possible the potential threat to the safety of all people staying at the stadium,” explained Robert Szumiata, spokesman for KSP.

According to KSP, “yesterday showed that among the huge crowd of fans, unfortunately, there were people who consciously violated the rules in force at the stadium.”

“Although there were few of them, their behavior influenced the non-sporting image of this event. The actions we took included the arrest of 19 people who were in possession of drugs” – added a representative of the Warsaw Police.
