Scandal during Iga Świątek’s match. Shocking behavior of a fan!
Some unusual scenes occurred during the match between Iga Świątek and Amanda Anisimova during the WTA Finals in Riyadh. It was about… a Polish fan.
During the first set of the competition to advance to the semi-finals of the prestigious event in the capital of Saudi Arabia, unfortunately, shocking images occurred. It is difficult to explain the behavior that one of Iga Świątek’s fans “showed off”.
The loud screams of one of the Poles, who decided to clearly mark his presence during Wednesday’s match, were clearly audible. The problem, however, is that instead of helping, it hindered Świątek’s play. Loud shouting took place, among others: during the key tie-break, before the Polish woman’s second serve.
Ultimately, Świątek won the key game 7:3 against Amanda Anisimova, but during the break between sets, she asked the main referee of the match to ask the fan to leave the stands. As Świątek herself admitted, this man “disrupts the game.”
Former tennis player Klaudia Jans-Ignacik, who commented on the match for Canal+ Sport, had a similar opinion.
Iga Świątek and all her championship titles
In her career so far, the Pole has won a total of 25 championship titles on courts almost all over the world.
Świątek won six Grand Slam titles, four times at Roland Garros (2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024), once at the US Open (2022) and Wimbledon (2025). To this should be added the prestigious triumph in the WTA Finals (2023).
In addition, wins in WTA 1000 tournaments in: Rome (2021, 2022, 2024), Doha (2022 and 2024), Indian Wells (2022 and 2024), Miami (2022), Beijing (2023), Madrid (2024) and the most recent one in Cincinnati (2025).
The list also includes WTA 500 competitions: Adelaide (2021), Stuttgart (2022 and 2023), San Diego (2022), Doha (2023) and Seoul (2025). Plus a Polish accent, WTA 250 in Warsaw (2023).
After the Olympic tournament in Paris (2024), a bronze medal of the Games should be added to this list. The first disc in the history of Polish Olympics taken from competition on tennis courts. Although, as the tennis player herself mentioned, after winning Wimbledon, if she could, she would exchange one of her Grand Slam wins – for Olympic gold.
