Sale of savings bonds. It’s better, but still far from the record

The Ministry of Finance presented the results of the sale of savings bonds for December. Last month, bonds with a total value of PLN 5,009 million were sold. This is a slightly better result than in November, when PLN 4,521 million was recorded, which was the worst result since February 2024, when PLN 4,517 million was sold. The best result was in July, when total sales amounted to PLN 11,763 million.

Results of the sale of savings bonds in December

The data for November presented by the Ministry of Finance are as follows:

• 3-month (OTS0325) – PLN 174.6 million,

• 1-year (ROR1225) – PLN 1,791.6 million,

• 2-year (DOR1226) – PLN 285.6 million,

• 3-year (TOS1227) – PLN 1,390.7 million,

• 4-year (COI1228) – PLN 771.4 million,

• 10-year (EDO1234) – PLN 523.3 million.

In the last month of 2024 – similarly to November – the most frequently purchased instruments were 1-year bonds – ROR (36 percent share in the sales structure), individual buyers allocated PLN 1,791.6 million for their purchase. In second place were 3-year bonds – TOS (28% share in sales, PLN 1,390.7 million allocated). 4-year bonds – COI (with a 15% share in sales) were also very popular. Savers were less likely to choose 10-year bonds – EDO (10%), 2-year bonds – DOR (6%), and 3-month bonds – OTS (3%).

The Ministry of Finance also announced that in December customers spent over PLN 71 million on the purchase of family bonds dedicated to beneficiaries of the “Rodzina 800 plus” program. This is much more than a month earlier, when the amount was over PLN 55 million.

The Ministry reminds that family bonds are addressed only to people receiving the 800 plus benefit who want to save for the future needs of their children. Beneficiaries of the program may purchase this type of bonds up to the amount of the child benefit granted. Family bonds are available for continuous sale, so they can be purchased at any time.
