Ryanair is planning new destinations from Poland. “We are growing strongly in Croatia”

The strong increase in Poles’ interest in Croatia and the Balkan countries is a chance to open new air connections from our country. Where can we go in the next seasons? We talked about this with Alicja Wójcik-Gołębiowska, regional director of Ryanair in Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltic countries.
The guest of the “Wprost” Travel was Alicja-Wójcik Gołębiowska, country manager of the Irish airline Ryanair in Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltic countries. Recently, the airlines boasted two record months in terms of the number of passengers served (in August it was an increase of 8% compared to the previous year, in September by 10%). We asked where Poles were most likely to fly and what Polish passengers can expect in the coming seasons.
Top Ryanair destination from Poland. A city “doomed to success”
The representative of the airline said that the Costa Blanca, and specifically Alicante, is very popular among Poles, to which you can fly directly from nine airports in Poland (in Rzeszów in the summer season, until October 31).
– Alicante and Spain are the top destinations from virtually all airports in Poland. Poles love Alicante and each addition of a new connection or increase in rotation in this direction is doomed to success – said Alicja Wójcik-Gołębiowska to “Wprost”.
She added that one can also notice the difference between the countries located in our region and Poland. In the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, it is the capitals that generate the most traffic. In the case of Poland, huge tourist traffic can also be seen outside the capital, including: in Gdańsk, Poznań and Lublin, where Irish airlines are opening holiday routes.
New connections to the Balkan countries?
What new destinations from Poland opened by Irish airlines can we expect?
– The offer of connections from Poland will be developed in the following seasons. We are growing very strongly in new markets, such as Albania and Morocco. We look towards all Balkan directions. We are growing very strongly in Croatia. I hope that further connections connecting Poland with these markets will be opened in the following seasons, said the airline’s representative.
Alicja Wójcik-Gołębiowska added that Ryanair is also counting on its opening new connections between Poland and the Nordic countries. This will be facilitated by the abolition of the aviation tax in Sweden (the fee was introduced in 2018, among other things, due to climate protection, the center-right government promised to abolish it – ed.).
20th anniversary of Irish airlines on the Polish market
Next year, Irish airlines will celebrate their 40th anniversary, including 20 years of operations in Poland. The first Ryanair plane from a Polish airport took off on March 24, 2005 and took passengers from Wrocław’s Strachowice airport to London-Stansted.
Can we expect super-cheap tickets, surprises, or maybe special prizes hidden in popular scratch cards on this occasion? For now, the details are shrouded in mystery.
