Russian woman’s outburst at Wimbledon! She was the one who deprived Maja Chwalińska of success

It is no secret that Mirra Andreeva cannot fully control her emotions. It is true that in the perspective of past seasons, the Russian’s attitude is still better than at the beginning of her career – but there are still situations… below criticism.

This was the case during Wednesday’s (i.e. July 1) match against Barbora Krejcikova. The Czech Wimbledon champion from 2024 showed that she can perfectly cope on the grass in London. The more experienced tennis player showed the much younger Andreeva how much she still had to work to succeed in the legendary tournament.

In the context of the competition between the Russian and the Czech, problems for the less experienced one could have been predicted. Andreeva already had her problems in the first round, where she faced Magda Linette. The Poznań native was close to making more than just a good impression. However, in key moments, Andreeva was able to show superiority over her rival from Poland. The final score of the match was 7:5, 6:4 – however, it perfectly shows how close the Roland Garros 2026 champion was to losing at the very beginning.

However, the tournament ladder did not spare Andreeva. Barbora Krejcikova was waiting in the second round of Wimbledon. In recent years, the Czech tennis player has had to fight not only with her rivals, but above all with her own health. A number of injuries meant that even though Krejcikova can play tennis very well, she could not consistently reach new heights.

However, the Czech can boast of, among others: triumph at Wimbledon 2024. It was therefore difficult to predict that Andreeva would have an easy match against an opponent so familiar with the London grass. And indeed it was so. The Russian, who was only 19 years old, ultimately lost after three sets, but it must be clearly admitted that it was a close battle.

Especially the ending was incredibly exciting.

Andreeva also showed her worse face. The Russian constantly complained to her staff about how the competition was going in the decisive parts of the match. Additionally, after one of the matches number 5 in the tournament, he ostentatiously hit himself in the head with a tennis racket.

And when it came to the final defeat, the same racket was eloquently thrown by the Russian.

During the press conference, the Russian did not hide her tears, and the meeting with journalists had to be interrupted. Andreeva doesn’t handle defeats well, but in the context of her further career, the teenager will have to start getting used to the fact that she won’t be able to win everything and against everyone. The 2026 season is favorable for her anyway, considering the first Grand Slam title won in Paris.

In the final of RG, Andreeva defeated a sensational participant in the title game – Maja Chwalińska. Interestingly, the Pole also quickly said goodbye to the tournament, being eliminated in the first round in London.
