Russian drones in the airspace over Poland. “Moscow does not send a telegram”
On Monday (September 8), a press conference of spokespersons: Cod, Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Interior and Administration took place in Warsaw. Representatives of the army and two resorts spoke about incidents that took place last weekend.
– Last week of September is a very intense time for air defense. The Russian Federation carried out attacks on Ukraine – we know that over two thousand drones have been fired – Lieutenant Colonel Jacek Goryszewski said. He pointed out that only at night from Saturday to Sunday 800 UAVs were sent.
– I assure you that when information is obtained each time – intelligence or from Kiev – our systems, among others terrestrial defense, anti -aircraft defense sets, also radar means – are raised into the highest readiness. This was also the case on the night of September 6-7. We had hunting couples in the air, duty – or helicopter pairs. This huge effort of the entire air, radar, anti -aircraft defense – aims to ensure the safety of our citizens. I will emphasize once again the words of the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army (it is General Wiesław Kukuła – editor’s note), the operational commander: our goal is not at all costs to fight these drones, because when we know that they have a course that indicates leaving our aircraft, it is calculated every time, or fighting such an unmanned aircraft is certainly safe for citizens. We can find out about this, even by observing the events in Ukraine, that it is not always safe for civilians. (…) This often has undesirable consequences, and we want to avoid it – noted the head of the press department, cod spokesperson.
Meeting of Minister Kierwiński and Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. “Introduction of systems that would detect drones early”
Then Karolina Gałecka gave a commentary for the media. – Behind the eastern border – as we all know – a full -size armed conflict is underway. We are all aware of this. Therefore, remember that such situations when objects violate our airspace can and will happen. Of course, we do everything for our part-in cooperation and with the Ministry of National Defense, with the army and with all the services-to detect such facilities as soon as possible and inform. All this so that Poles feel safe, and especially those citizens of the Republic of Poland who live near the eastern border. Remember that this issue of drones or other objects that violate the airspace concerns those regions – she pointed out.
The spokeswoman for the Ministry of Interior and Administration indicated that the fact that the press briefing of the press was gathered by representatives of the army and two ministries – clearly shows that the state is working and wants to ensure the safety of citizens. -A few minutes ago the meeting of the Minister of National Defense (Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz-ed.) With the head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration (Marcin Kierwiński) ended. (…) This meeting, which took place today between the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Interior and Administration, was planned a lot, much earlier-no matter what happened last weekend. (…) The subject of this meeting (…) were primarily conversations that are aimed at improving, as well as the introduction of systems that would detect drones in our aircraft early – said the director of the Social Communication Department at the Ministry of Kierwiński.
“There is no situation here that a letter comes from Moscow”
At the end of the statements of the predecessors, the spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defense supplemented. – The meeting of ministers (which took place today – ed.) Took place among experts – all those who watch, launch appropriate systems. (…) they share information, provide scenarios – because there is no situation that a letter or telegram comes from Moscow with the content: “We will attack the western flank of Ukraine in the next night, therefore you have to reckon with the fact that something will come to you – watch.” No, it is a matter of improvisation, predicting various types of events, which happened last weekend – pointed out Janusz Sejmej.
