Robert Lewandowski’s goal! The Pole did it perfectly

Robert Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski with his fourth goal for FC Barcelona. The Polish striker scored in the second half of Barca’s match against Real Sociedad. The Spanish champions won 2-1.

After the first 45 minutes, FC Barcelona drew with Real Sociedad 1-1. Interestingly, coach Hansi Flick from the very first minute chose both Wojciech Szczęsny in goal and Robert Lewandowski in the middle of the hosts’ attacking trio.

Importantly, although the hosts started with a surprising 0:1, they took the lead in the 59th minute. Lewandowski scored the goal to make it 2-1. The Pole was served brilliantly by Lamine Yamal, who had just appeared on the pitch.

The Spaniard crossed the ball into the penalty area, and RL9 perfectly headed the ball into the net. The ball bounced off the visitors’ goal post. Let us add that this is another Pole’s recent header goal.

Robert Lewandowski’s goal! Wojciech Szczęsny returned to Barca’s goal

For the Spanish champions, the match against Real Sociedad was crucial from the perspective of the LaLiga table. All because of the stumble suffered by the current leader and Barca’s biggest rival, Real Madrid. The Royals lost their first match of the season, clearly losing 2-5 in the Madrid derby against Atletico.

If Barcelona wins, coach Flick’s team will jump to the top of the league hierarchy. And that’s exactly what happened. The result of the match did not change. Although Lewandowski had one more perfect opportunity to get on the scoresheet again. This time… only the crossbar of the visitors’ goal shook.

From the perspective of Polish fans, an additional, positive accent is probably the return of two Poles in the starting line-up of the Spanish champions. Lewandowski, recently as a substitute, scored against Real Sociedad, scoring the first goal as this basic player in the 2025/26 season.

In the case of Szczęsny, the Polish goalkeeper will most likely play at least until the end of October due to the injury suffered by number 1 between the posts, Joan Garcia. In the near future, among others: during the blockbuster clash against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

It is worth adding that with Szczęsny in goal, Barcelona has not lost a match in its history. And the Pole played his first match for Barca in LaLiga… on January 26. So Szczęsny’s series is really impressive.
