Robert Lewandowski is in the spotlight! Important signal from Spain

Robert Lewandowski

Will Robert Lewandowski stay at FC Barcelona? The Catalan media took up the case of the Pole and the attackers, who are supposed to be Barca’s strength in the future.

We recently reported that Robert Lewandowski will most likely stay with FC Barcelona for another season. The Pole would sign a contract on different terms than before, waiving high earnings and accepting a new role in the ranks of the team from the capital of Catalonia.

Lewandowski would – like Wojciech Szczęsny currently – be a mentor for younger colleagues in his position. A new number 9 on the pitch seems to be obvious for the future of the club led by coach Hansi Flick.

Robert Lewandowski on the cover! The Pole’s fate in FC Barcelona is hanging in the balance

Let us remind you that RL9 has been a Barcelona player since the summer of 2022. The Pole was previously the biggest star of the Bundesliga and Bayern Munich, playing for the club from the capital of Bavaria in 2014-22. Lewandowski’s contract with Barca expires in June 2026.

Journalists from “Mundo Deportivo” put Lewandowski on the cover of Wednesday’s edition of the Catalan daily. Reason? The Pole found himself next to Ferran Torres and Julian Alvarez – his current and perhaps future teammate from Barcelona.

Journalists describe the operation of bringing the mentioned new number 9, a goal-scoring striker, to coach Flick’s team. According to journalists from the capital of Catalonia, an agreement with Lewandowski is very close. Although it is not the case that the Pole has already definitely reached an agreement with the Barca authorities.

Lewandowski is to wait with the decision on his future until the end of April this year, as the Pole also has several external offers, which were discussed and written about earlier. The list of Catalan journalists includes, among others: AC Milan, clubs from Saudi Arabia and the American MLS. Additionally, there have been recent signals that Lewandowski is targeted by Juventus.

What about the transfer of the mentioned Alvarez from Atletico Madrid? Barcelona would be able to pay around 80-90 million euros for the Argentine. However, Torres’ future is difficult to predict. The Spaniard has a contract valid until June 2027. Torres became Barca’s main striker this season, but lost his effectiveness during the competition.

If Lewandowski extends his contract with Barca for another season or two, it may become quite tight in the context of Barcelona’s offensive – with the above-mentioned Torres and the possible signing of Alvarez.

However, this is a headache that president Joan Laporta, sports director Deco and coach Flick will have to deal with.
