Robert Lewandowski did it again! A surprising role for the second Pole

Robert Lewandowski

Chicago Fire players won for the sixth time in a row. This time Robert Lewandowski and company defeated Orlando City (2:1). RL9 scored a winning goal.

Robert Lewandowski could once again enjoy the success of Chicago Fire. What’s more, the Pole scored a goal, which was a valuable achievement – both for himself and the team’s points tally.

This time, Lewandowski confidently took the penalty kick. It was the 69th minute of the match.

Robert Lewandowski with another goal! Another Pole’s debut for Fire

Interestingly, RL9 was not the only Pole who started the match against Orlando City from the first minute. David Poręba appeared on the pitch. The 23-year-old is a midfielder and started his football adventure in the USA. Interestingly, after playing, among others, in the youth teams of Fire, a boy born in Chicago went to his parents’ homeland – becoming a footballer for Stal Mielec. However, in Poland, Poręba did not find his feet well enough to take any spectacular step, so he decided to return to the USA. He has been with the Chicago Fire reserves since 2024, and last night he got the chance to make his MLS debut.

As it turned out, Poręba needed only four minutes to record an assist. It is worth adding that there was a bit of an accident on the part of… Lewandowski, who initially did not hit the ball cleanly with his head, and it then landed with his assisting compatriot. Overall, however, it ended favorably for both Polish players – considering the entire match.

Thanks to the away win, Fire recorded their sixth victory in a row. Lewandowski scored his fourth goal in his eighth official match for the Chicago club.

After the match, there were many fans in the stands who came to the stadium especially for the Polish ace. Lewandowski, in line with tradition, patiently reached out to his compatriots, thanking them for their support.

The Fire remain in third place in the MLS Western Conference table. The next match of the club against Chicago will be on August 23 (i.e. Sunday). Fire’s opponent will be New York Red Bulls, it will be an away match. Starting at 1:30 am Polish time.

And on August 21… Robert Lewandowski’s birthday. The Pole will be 38 years old.
