Robert Kubica won the legendary Le Mans race! A Pole on the lips around the world
Robert Kubica winner of the 93rd edition of the famous, 24 -hour Le Mans race. The Pole did great in the legendary competition in the AF Corse team.
There is no doubt that Le Mans (France) lasting day is one of the most prestigious races of this type, with a very rich tradition. The oldest long -distance race of this type, whose history dates back to 1923. The winner has never been a Pole in history. Up to the mid -middle of June 2025.
How did Robert Kubica look at his start in the colors of the AF Corse team, a private Ferrari team?
– The fight for the podium will be very even and very difficult. We saw Le Mans, where the situation changed dramatically, very quickly. Two years ago, four cars were eliminated, they lost a minute and a half or a lap after 100 meters of the race. And this makes some tasks easier. On the other hand, last year there was a really difficult edition, we rode a very solid race, but unfortunately we didn’t get due to a failure. So from my perspective I will always be satisfied if I do my job at a satisfactory level – said the Polish driver in an interview for the portal backrta.pl.
The crew that won was consisting of three drivers. Apart from Pole Robert Kubica, they were Chinese Yifey Ye and British Phil Hanson. Interestingly, the driver cannot go during the race lasting at Circuit de la Sarthe less than 6 hours, but he cannot exceed 14 hours of driving.
There is no doubt, however, that it was the Pole who was the leader of this team, which was shown by the decisions to entrust the most important fragments of competition to him.
Robert Kubica won in Le Mans! The legendary race lasting day
Drivers’ competition began on Saturday (i.e. June 14) at 16:00. The Cracovian and his team were included in the favorites in the strongest category of Hypercar. Last year, AF Corse was unlucky during Le Mans, because there was a breakdown and a few hours before the resolution, it was necessary to withdraw from the struggle.
Fortunately, this year’s competition looked completely different. However, there was no shortage of emotions, mainly due to … the factory competition of Kubica and the company. In Ferrari there was a conflict of interests, the Forem Team, which should be better than a private crew, and yet Summa Summarum turned out to be worse.
Five hours before the end of the race, Alessandro Pier Guidi, the driver of the then leader, Ferrari #51, made a big mistake. Falling out of the route meant that Kubica jumped on the lead – although it was already visible that the Pole was reaching the best times – and its leading is a matter of time.
In addition, the Porsche Penske Motorsport crew #6 jumped behind the back of AF Corse #83. The Pole has not given the lead to the end, showing extraordinary immunity and abilities, which have always set him at the forefront of drivers in the world.
However, equally important, in 2025 there was also an extremely important – happiness.
In addition to the great success of Kubica and his colleagues, it is worth emphasizing that the Polish team Inter Europol Competition #43 triumphed in the LMP2 category. It is also a huge success from the perspective of a Polish motor sports fan.
