Revolut surprises customers. The end of a valid fee

Revolut introduces significant changes in the price list. At the beginning of spring, one of the most burdensome fees will disappear – a commission for currency exchange on weekends. So far, its presence has been explained by the lack of activity on the Forex market outside of working days and the need to protect against course fluctuations. Now the operator decides to abolish it, though not for all customers.

New rules

The new rules include users of paid premium plans, metal and ultra. In their case, the additional weekend fee is completely lifted. Customers using the Plus plan will pay less – the commission will be reduced from 1 percent. up to 0.5 percent However, these changes do not include users of the Free Standard plan, who will still have to take into account a commission of 1 percent. from foreign currency transactions carried out over the weekend.

For customers of the Plan, the standard solution may be an earlier purchase of the currency, e.g. before a planned foreign trip. In this way, additional costs can be avoided and more favorable courses on business days.

Simplification of services

The revolution in the manner of servicing currency transactions was one of the main reasons for Revolut’s popularity. The company has gained recognition thanks to simplified rules and competitive courses that facilitated payments outside the country. Current changes are to further emphasize the advantages of paid packages, which also offer other amenities – such as access to ESIM, the possibility of booking accommodation by the application or the use of airports salons.

Tara Massoudi, director of premium products in Revolut, emphasizes that removing the fee for exchange of currencies on weekends is another step towards simplification and more attractive financial services for traveling customers. As he points out, this is not only saving, but also greater comfort of using Revolut around the world.
