Restrictions in 800 plus for Ukrainians are getting closer. The project is ready

The head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration Tomasz Siemoniak announced that the project regarding restrictions in access to 800 plus for foreigners is ready. The minister emphasized that this will not be a soulless project and random situations will be taken into account.
In January, the presidential candidate on behalf of the Civic Coalition Rafał Trzaskowski announced restrictions in payments of 800 plus for foreigners, including Ukrainians, so that the benefit only goes to people who work and pay taxes in Poland. Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed support for this concept.
– President Rafał Trzaskowski’s proposal to pay 800+ only to those migrants, including Ukrainians who actually live, work and pay taxes in our country, will be urgently considered by the government. I am on yes – wrote the head of government on social media.
Changes in 800 plus. Ready project
The Ministry of the Interior and Administration is working on changes in this matter. At what stage are they? This question was heard on Thursday by the head of the ministry Tomasz Siemoniak. The minister announced that the project in this matter is ready, it was developed in the Ministry of Interior and Administration in cooperation with the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS).
– We are starting the government procedure, and in April there will be an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the details after publishing on the pages of the Government Legislation Center – announced the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration.
Siemoniak confirmed that the project is realized a general idea “to link the payment of 800 plus with participation in the Polish contributory and tax system.” He emphasized that the document takes into account various possible sensitive situations related to e.g. lonely motherhood and other random situations.
– It will not be a soulless project, but it will be a project that will implement the principle that 800 plus those who make a certain contribution to formal functioning in Polish society should be paid to those who make a certain contribution to the formal functioning – said the head of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.
Siemoniak also pointed out that new solutions require changes in several dozen different laws. – This is the prime minister to make the project ready in April and we will do this task – summed up the minister.
The amendment to the Act on the aid of Ukrainian citizens living in Poland entered into force in the middle of last year, introducing new rules regarding education and social benefits.
From September, the obligation to study in Polish educational institutions has been extended to all children from Ukraine staying in Poland. This applies to both kindergarten and primary and high schools. Attending a Polish school has become a prerequisite for benefits from 800 plus programs and a good start. The regulations, however, provide for one exception – students of the oldest classes in schools functioning according to the Ukrainian education system can continue their education online and do not have to sign up for Polish schools.
