Reduction of wholesale fuel prices at Orlen. How much per liter on Friday?
On Wednesday, Orlen increased the wholesale price of unleaded Eurosuper 95 petrol by PLN 16, but on Thursday it reduced it by PLN 33. The reduction also applied to Ekodiesel diesel oil – PLN 11 less per m3.
According to the current wholesale fuel price list of the Orlen concern, on Friday morning Eurosuper 98 unleaded petrol costs PLN 5,433 per m3, and Ekodiesel diesel oil costs PLN 6,771 per m3.
The company explains that wholesale fuel prices are the result of the calculation of fuel quotations on European markets, contract conditions and logistics costs.
Small reductions in fuel prices on Good Friday
During Wednesday’s press conference at the Ministry of State Assets, Orlen’s president Ireneusz Fąfara assured that there will be no shortage of fuel at stations in Poland. – We are now calm and you can be calm, all of you can be calm, that there will be no shortage of fuel – assured the head of the Płock concern.
It is the fourth day in a row when maximum prices for fuels, set by the Minister of Energy and published the day before in Monitor Polski, apply at stations across the country. On Friday, fuel is slightly cheaper. However, the reductions are small: the price of diesel dropped by PLN 0.01, the price of gasoline by PLN 0.04.
The maximum price for unleaded 95 petrol, including VAT, current on Friday is: PLN 6.19 per liter (on April 2 it was PLN 6.23), the price of unleaded 98 petrol with VAT is no more than PLN 6.80 per (on Thursday it was PLN 6.84), while the maximum price of diesel oil is PLN 7.64 (on Thursday it was PLN 7.65).
The next announcement will be published on Good Friday and will specify the maximum fuel prices valid during the entire Easter holidays – from Holy Saturday to Tuesday inclusive, i.e. April 4, 5, 6 and 7.
The government carefully monitors fuel prices
Wojciech Balczun, the Minister of State Assets, is convinced that thanks to the “Fuel Prices Lower” package, drivers pay less for fuel at gas stations than before the introduction of this mechanism. – This price will always be lower than what would result directly from the natural, so to speak, market reality, the calculation method that was in force before CPN – explained Minister Balczun.
Maximum prices are calculated daily by the Ministry of Energy using an algorithm that takes into account the arithmetic average of wholesale fuel prices from the previous business day, excise tax and VAT, fuel surcharge and a fixed amount covering the operating costs of sales – PLN 0.30. This mechanism works in parallel with tax reductions (VAT and excise duties), which are intended to minimize the impact of the conflict in the Middle East on fuel prices at domestic stations.
