Real estate kings from Wiejska. The Sejm is full of tycoons

Sejm RP

There is no shortage of real estate millionaires in the Polish Parliament. Interestingly, the leaders in this respect are not widely known MPs.

At the beginning of June, the MPs submitted their declarations of assets. The tvn24.pl website checked what politicians’ assets look like when it comes to real estate.

Real estate kings from Wiejska

The richest in this respect is Law and Justice MP Andrzej Gut-Mostowy. The politician, who previously served as deputy minister of sport and tourism, has a house with an area of 340 square meters. It is worth approximately PLN 2.5 million. The former deputy minister also owns an apartment worth PLN 1.5 million, as well as ten other properties. These are plots with a value of PLN 30,000 or more. up to PLN 28 million. In total, this amounts to approximately PLN 72 million, which makes the PiS MP the clear leader of the ranking.

The runner-up is Artur Łącki, MP of the Civic Coalition, whose properties are worth a total of approximately PLN 45 million. The MP owns two houses, eight apartments, a farm, and four plots of land worth approximately PLN 30 million.

Łącki is being chased by his clubmate Robert Dowhan, whose real estate is worth approximately PLN 42.2 million. The MP from the Civic Coalition owns a nearly 100-square-meter apartment worth PLN 2 million, but – as tvn24.pl notes – he included a total of 23 items in his statement, including six apartments and two commercial premises, an office building and several plots of land. At the end, the MP included the following reservation: “The values given are estimates, but I often hear that people want to buy real estate from the MP/Senator at the price specified in the asset declaration. Maybe just someone? Something?”

As you can see, the “kings of real estate” from Wiejska are not politicians known from the front pages of newspapers. However, there are plenty of popular characters in the top ten of the list. They included, among others: Joanna Lichocka (owns real estate worth a total of PLN 16 million), Przemysław Wipler (PLN 14 million), and Ryszard Petru (PLN 12 million).
