Rail promotion for a long weekend in Poland. Cheap travel with a “tour ticket”
From Wednesday to Sunday, passengers can take advantage of a special promotion from Koleje Mazowieckie. As part of the “tour ticket”, you can take a cheap trip up to 200 km.
A long weekend is a great opportunity to discover the treasures of your region. By using one day off on Friday, August 16, you can easily get four extra days of vacation. For this occasion, Koleje Mazowieckie has extended the validity of the “tourist ticket”. The promotion for cheaper travel on the carrier’s trains is valid from 6 p.m. on Wednesday to midnight on Sunday. As part of this offer, you can go on a cheap trip up to 200 kilometers.
Cheap travel with Koleje Mazowieckie
The long weekend is a time of increased travel for Poles. Due to high demand on Intercity trains, many seats have already been sold out. Not all carriers offer special promotions due to additional days off. The exception is Koleje Mazowieckie, which has extended its weekend promotion for the purchase of a “trip ticket” specifically for the period from Wednesday, August 15 to midnight, August 18.
The discount that will be granted to us depends on the length of the route we intend to travel. In the case of a connection from 91 to 100 kilometers, a standard ticket will cost PLN 23.20, and for a 200-kilometer journey – PLN 32.90, which is about 15 percent less than the standard price. Since additional discounts do not apply to the special offer, only people who do not have other discounts will benefit from the promotion. “The validity period of a travel ticket for a “there” or “there and back” journey is one day. The journey must be completed by midnight within the validity period of the ticket,” we read on the carrier’s website.
Where can we go?
As part of the “tourist ticket” we can travel no longer than 200 kilometers. This means that the current promotion does not apply to the “Słoneczny” train, which has been transporting tourists from Warsaw to the Tri-City and Ustka since the beginning of the summer holidays. However, in the vicinity of the capital we will find many beautiful places worth visiting on the occasion of an extended weekend. Among the destinations worth considering as the destination of the next trip is Płock, located in the Dobrzyńskie Lakeland, known for its beautiful Vistula boulevards and charming wooden pier. We will also find a similar atmosphere on the beach in Nieporęt on Lake Zegrze. The inconspicuous Mława, where we will find a picturesque reservoir and numerous bike paths, is also an attraction.
