PZPN openly about call-ups to the national team. There is a new idea in Poland
On Friday, September 18, Jan Urban will announce the list of players called up for the autumn training camp of the Polish national football team. The announcement will have a new formula.
The Polish Football Association, contrary to sensational media reports, has no intention of parting with Jan Urban. The Polish coach can sleep peacefully, although the matches in the Nations League will undoubtedly be an important test for the national team. Will Robert Lewandowski play in it? We will find out whether the team captain’s name will be on the list of those called up on September 18, Friday, exactly a few minutes after 9:00.
PZPN with a new idea. This is how call-ups to the Polish national team will be announced
Why such an exact time? This is due to the announcement that appeared on Wednesday (i.e. September 9) from the Polish Football Association.
The appointments will be announced for the first time during a live broadcast, available to everyone on the free PZPN+ platform. The whole thing will be preceded by a conversation with the trainer, and its start is scheduled for 9:00.
PZPN+ is a platform that combines broadcasts, video materials, archives, games, clubs and – ultimately – the entire digital ecosystem of Polish football in one place. You can register, actually free of charge, here. Recently, broadcasts of STS Polish Cup matches have appeared on the federation’s platform.
Ultimately, the goal of PZPN+ is to open up to Polish football at every level, from the Polish national team, through central competitions, to regional and local football.
What awaits the Polish national team in the near future under coach Urban? First of all, competition in the B division in the previously mentioned Nations League. Poland will start with a match against Bosnia and Herzegovina (September 25, Warsaw). Then a trip to Sweden (September 28, Solna), back to Poland and a clash with Romania (October 2, Warsaw) and at the end of the four-match marathon, another match against BiH – this time as visitors (October 5, Zenica).
For Polish players, this will be the first opportunity to play in the B division. Previously, for four editions, the Polish national team played in the most prestigious one – the A division. Unfortunately, in November 2024, the then coach Michał Probierz was relegated to the national team.
