PZPN is still looking for a new national team coach. The favorite fell out of the game

On Tuesday, June 24, the PZPN Board gathers. We will not know the new national team coach that day. Especially since the favorite of the president Cezary Kulesza fell out of the pool of names.
12 days have passed since Michał Probierz’s resignation from the function of the Polish national team coach. The selector’s parting with the staff took place in extremely unpleasant circumstances. The Terrier conflicted with Robert Lewandowski, and during his last matches he heard from the stands a few unpleasant words from the fans. He also lost an important match with Finland, which may depend on the promotion to the world championships.
Who is the new team coach? Kulesza was to be the favorite of Korża
The tradition of the PZPN is the selection of a new trainer by the president of the Union. This is how Zbigniew Boniek did and this is how Kulesza conducts matters. Until now, he was not lucky with selectors, to put it mildly. Neither Czesław Michniewicz, nor Fernando Santos nor Michał Prdyk achieved with the representation of the results worth remembering.
This time, among the scrolling names of the candidates for the coach, we have a lot of interesting options. There is talk of Jan Urbanie, Jerzy Brzęczek and Marek Papszuna. They reported themselves, among others Miroslav Klose, Gareth Southgate and several less known trainers. From the beginning, however, it was said that the favorite of Kulesza was 53-year-old Maciej Skorża.
Skorża not for the national team. Stays in Japan
Skorża led Legia, Wisła Kraków and Lech Poznań in his career, winning the 4th Polish Championships. He was already an assistant to the national team for coach Paweł Janas. Abroad, he led the Saudi club Ettifaq FC and the Olympic national team of the United Arab Emirates. Since 2022, Japanese Urawa Red Diamonds has been running with a short break, with whom he has already won the Asian Champions League.
Unfortunately, Skorża could not be persuaded by Kulesza. Unofficial reports show that he did not want to give up his job in Asia and break the words of the Japanese. Apparently, he also had concerns about the current state of the staff and the entrance to the national team at a difficult moment. The chances of promotion are not yet crossed out, but the atmosphere is poor and the situation of Robert Lewandowski is unclear. – Skorża’s coach will not take the national team – he was to say Interia a high -ranking PZPN activist.
