Put it in your suitcase before your flight and you’ll save a lot. A traveler’s trick may come in handy
A first aid kit, a special item of clothing or a cosmetic – none of these items packed into a suitcase will provide you with what this simple trick does.
If you like flying, you’ve probably heard a lot of advice for travelers. Some are related to the style of packing, others to tricks, including: tying ribbons to suitcases or using specific types of padlocks and bags. Another patent is not common, but tourists use it. All you need is a white sheet of paper.
A suitcase and a certificate with a piece of paper
A piece of paper in your suitcase is enough to make your journey from the airport safer. According to experienced travelers, it can save your vacation in an emergency situation. What are we talking about? Of course, about losing luggage, which can happen especially often during the peak season. Crowds appear at ports, which can be a challenge for the staff.
In such a moment, a card is supposed to be helpful – it is considered even more effective than locators or stickers, which are easy to tear off. The best idea is to use an A4 or A5 sheet of paper on which you will write your name, surname, telephone number and e-mail address. It is also a good idea to provide the address of the place you are going to, and sometimes even the reservation number and travel date. Afterwards, place the card on top of the suitcase just before you close it. At the end, it’s also worth taking a photo of the suitcase.
The matter is made easier by the fact that the paper card is light and does not take up space. It is also much less unreliable than a modern locator, which can run out of power or break down.
What does this give tourists?
If your suitcase goes missing, all you need to do is inform the staff about the card when reporting the problem – this can make the search process and returning the luggage to the right place much easier.
It is worth remembering that at many airports, staff open incorrectly identified luggage as part of the second inspection. There, its contents are checked for compliance with the lost luggage report. Thanks to the card, there will be no need to search for a long time.
