Pseudo -bacts were afraid in Chorzów. They attacked random people
A group of masked men attacked random passers -by, beating them, falling and kicking them. Dramatic events occurred on June 17 in a district called “Cwajka”. The police investigate the case. It is possible that behind the brutal incident there are hooligans associated with GKS Katowice and Górnik Zabrze.
According to residents’ accounts, masked attackers moved by car on the estate streets, hunting for passers -by. After stopping the vehicle, they ran out of it, attacked the people encountered, and then left to appear in a different place after a while and renew the attack. According to witnesses, special aggression was directed towards young people.
– These people organized hunting for passers -by in broad daylight – reports a resident of the district, which is quoted by Gazeta Wyborcza. – They beat them, turned and kicked them, then returned to the cars and went on – he adds.
Severely beaten passers -by were surprised and defenseless in the face of the brutal actions of the attackers. It is still unknown whether the attacks were random or victims were previously selected. According to the informants of Gazeta Wyborcza, the assault took place in several places in the district, and there were to be several attackers. One was connected by one thing – balaclavas in colors indicating specific supporters.
Investigation in terms of crime against life and health
The Provincial Police Headquarters in Katowice referred to the matter. At this stage, explanatory activities are carried out in terms of crime against life and health.
– We initiated activities in terms of crime against life and health. We do not have an official notification yet from possible victims. We are constantly finding, we examine the causes and circumstances of this event. At the moment we cannot provide more details, but we know that we are dealing with the activity of hooligans-told Commissioner Sabina Chyra-Gioreś, press officer of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Katowice.
Lack of reports from the victims may result in both fears for their own safety and for fear of revenge on the part of the attackers. Meanwhile, the local community is shocked by the scale of violence and the lack of response at the time of the event.
Pseudo -birds as torturers
The findings of “Gazeta Wyborcza” show that the attacks could have been related to the communities of hooligans of GKS Katowice and Górnik Zabrze clubs. The attackers’ belonging to these groups is to be demonstrated by the colors they wear on balaclavas – club colors that left no doubt as to their affiliation.
While the brutal behavior in the Kibol environment is not new, the escalation of aggression in the open, with the measure of violence in random passers -by, is an extremely disturbing phenomenon. Such actions not only constitute a serious violation of public order, but also sow fear among residents who are afraid of their safety.
– It looked like a show or an attempt to intimidate – says one of the residents who witnessed the assault, but for fear of his own life he preferred not to react.
Fear and frustration of residents
Inhabitants of the “Cwajka” district do not hide their indignation and powerlessness. In their opinion, such a scale of aggression in broad daylight is proof of the growing impunity of Kibol groups and the insufficient reaction of ordering services.
– Once such things happened after matches, at night, somewhere away from the estates. Now they attack in the middle of the day, without any inhibitions. And we are afraid to leave the house – comments an elderly woman who lives nearby one of the attacks.
Other residents who demand from the city authorities and the police speak in a similar tone. Some announce that if the situation repeats, they will organize civic patrols.
The police call for the help of witnesses
Officers do not hide that any information regarding the event may matter. They appeal to witnesses and possible victims to contact the police. They remind you that applications can be anonymous and all data will be covered by the secret of the investigation.
The case from Chorzów can become a turning point in the debate on safety on the streets of Silesian cities. However, may you not need more victims for public opinion and state institutions to treat the problem with proper seriousness.
