Projekt Warszawa pulled out an ace from its sleeve. Nikola Grbic watched everything

Linus Weber

The fans were waiting for this opening of the 7th round of PlusLiga. PGE Projekt Warszawa fought an exciting battle with Asseco Resovia Rzeszów, winning 3:2. Everyone will remember Linus Weber’s attitude for a long time.

The PGE Projekt Warszawa players entered the hit duel in a much better mood. In the seven PlusLiga matches so far, they have won six. Before the clash in the capital, Asseco Resovia Rzeszów had played five matches, of which they won only two. The Warsaw team was the favorite, but Resovia set difficult conditions for Piotr Graban’s players. The great spectacle was watched from the stands by the coach of the Polish national team, Nikola Grbic.

Weber is the joker of the Project

Projekt won Wednesday’s match, ultimately winning 3-2. One of the team’s heroes was Linus Weber. He can be called the golden substitute because he entered the field during the match and allowed the Project to tip the scales of victory in his favor.

The German finished the competition with 16 points, attacking with 60 percent effectiveness. Four service aces were important. Weber’s greatest work could be seen in the tie-break, where at 4:4 he finished one of the attacks and then scored three points with a serve. It was then clear that the result of 8:4 gave the Project great comfort in the fight for another league victory. And indeed, Resovia was unable to respond in the fifth set, losing 9:15. However, there is no denying that the team from Rzeszów could take the point taken away from the capital blindly, considering that the team is struggling with health problems.

Kochanowski MVP of the match

Ultimately, the award for the best player of the match did not go to Weber. It was received by Jakub Kochanowski. Nikola Grbic can certainly be happy that his team member is in good condition.

Kochanowski finished the match with 15 points. This included nine points in attack, four points scored with a block and two service aces. It should also be noted that the center attacked with an efficiency of 82 percent (9/11). Thanks to another victory, the project leads the PlusLiga table with 20 points. Of course, he also has the most matches played among the entire group (8).

PGE Projekt Warszawa – Asseco Resovia Rzeszów 3:2 (25:19, 21:25, 22:25, 25:18, 15:9)
