Prices on the Baltic Sea may surprise. “Horror receipts” are back
Every year, as soon as the holiday season begins, the topic of prices on the Baltic Sea returns. Will it be the same this summer? Suffice it to say that “it was already cheap”.
Until recently, a trip to the Polish sea seemed to be an ideal solution – and not only for those who prefer vacation in the country. Pleasant moments on the Baltic Sea could be spent for a relatively small amount, which in the south of Europe should be sought. But these times are over.
Every year, the topic of prices on the Baltic Sea returns like a boomerang. To the extent that the slogan of “horror receipts” has already anchored for good in our language. Every vacation Poles show massively how much they had to pay for fried fish or a cold beer. Journalists checked whether this year should be expected.
The theme of this year’s “horror receipts” was looked at by the editors of the Radiozet.pl portal, which went to one of the frying room in the charming Rewal in the nearby Międzyzdroje. The restaurant, on which journalists put, was not on the main promenade. Instead, it was relatively near the former fishing marina.

Journalists decided on a standard set: cod, fries and salad. The price of the fish was PLN 17.5 for 100 grams. The whole dinner was nearly PLN 75. “Although the cod was large size, the final receivable for a meal surprised us a lot,” wrote the editors of Radiozet.pl.
As journalists wrote further, if instead of plain cod on grilled cod in herbs, the price of dinner would increase to over PLN 85. If, however, the desire for dinner was for beer, then the price would increase to PLN 90.
Not only the editors of Radiozet.pl were surprised by prices. They heard the same from Poles who rested in Rewal. – The fish was tasty, but the price is definitely excessive. Apart from the Baltic Sea for a similar meal, I would pay several dozen zlotys less – one of the tourists told them to eat dinner in the same fry.
Another tourist said: – Only a few years ago you could fit in the amount of PLN 200 for dinner for a family of four. Now you can do cheaper shopping at the market, food in pubs simply does not pay off.
