Postman in digital version. Poczta Polska announces big changes
Poczta Polska confirms the digital return: 2 million e-Delivery boxes and new delivery rules from January 2026.
The digital revolution in deliveries is gaining momentum. Poczta Polska announced on November 3, 2025 that there are already over 2 million inboxes in the e-Delivery system. As much as 75 percent of them were created in 2025, which shows how quickly Poles adapt to electronic correspondence. This year alone, 38.7 million parcels were sent via the platform: 12 million were digital registered letters and 26.7 million were hybrid parcels. In practice, an increasing part of contact with offices is moving to online channels.
The next stage of change
The next stage of changes will enter into force on January 1, 2026. Then, a significant part of the public administration will be obliged to deliver documents primarily via the e-Delivery system. Citizens with an electronic delivery address (ADE) will receive official correspondence only digitally. For people without an account, a hybrid path is planned: the office will send the document electronically, and the operator – after printing it in designated centers – will deliver it traditionally by postman. This model is intended to ensure continuity of service while popularizing digital channels.
Poczta Polska also promotes the e-Polecony service, which enables a complete switch to electronic letters in private and business relationships. Setting up a delivery address is done via the gov.pl portal, and after activation, you can send and receive correspondence fully digitally. Both companies and individuals will benefit from e-Recommendation, which facilitates the organization of correspondence and speeds up the circulation of documents.
Safe box
The operator also emphasizes the safety aspect. Access to the mailbox requires authentication, which reduces the risk of impersonating other people. This is especially important for official letters, where the certainty of delivery and the identity of the addressee is crucial. As the number of active e-Delivery boxes increases, Poczta announces further information activities and support for users who are just starting to use the system.
The changes do not mean a sudden move away from paper for everyone, but they clearly indicate the direction for the coming years. The growing number of boxes, millions of parcels handled and statutory obligations of the administration from 2026 create a coherent ecosystem of electronic communication. For some users, this will be a full transition to digital correspondence, for others – an intermediate stage in the hybrid model. Regardless of the chosen path, e-Delivery facilitates contact with offices and companies, and the standardization of delivery processes simplifies everyday matters. Poczta Polska emphasizes that this is an evolution focused on convenience, speed and security – with a clear return date for offices as early as January 1, 2026.
