Popular swimming spot closed for a week. New facts about Warsaw’s favorite lake
The water in Lake Czerniakowskie is once again suitable for bathing. Other popular bathing areas in the Mazovian province have been closed.
The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management has issued a second-degree weather warning for the Warsaw district against the heat. The maximum temperature during the day will be from 29 degrees Celsius to 31 degrees Celsius. At night, the thermometers will show a minimum of 17 to 19 degrees Celsius. Orange alerts are valid on Thursday, August 15 from 12:00 to Saturday until 17:00. The warning may be extended, so it is worth following the IMGW website.
On such days, people usually seek refreshment. Warsaw residents can once again use a popular swimming spot. Czerniakowskie Lake has been closed since August 8. Usually, it is the bloom of cyanobacteria that makes the water unsuitable for bathing. This time, other biological contaminants were indicated as the cause.

However, the August 13 study showed that there is no longer any reason to continue to display the red flag. There are 272 Escherichia coli in the lake. The highest permissible concentration in bathing water is 1000 cfu (NPL)/100 ml.
Czerniakowskie Lake is a natural reservoir, in the southern part of which there is a beach, a swimming area and an outdoor gym. The safety of people using the lake is ensured by trained lifeguards, the water is tested by the sanitary inspection and is safe for swimming. The opening hours of the popular swimming area are 9:00 – 19:00. Entry is free. The swimming season lasts until September 15.

As for other bathing areas in the Mazovian province, the following are closed: Dzika Plaża in Nieporęt, Zalew Nowomiejski in Nowe Miasto, Jezioro Górskie Kąpielsko at Plaża Patelnia in Grabin, Kąpiel Miejskie Sobótka in Płock and Zalew Łosicki.
