Polish woman warns against "fried eggs". They swim in the water and attack tourists

Spain is a hot holiday destination. It is chosen primarily by those who can never get enough sun. Anyone who is there now must watch out for unusual creatures.

The appeal for caution is addressed primarily to beachgoers and people enjoying the seaside. A Polish woman who knows quite a lot about Spain warns tourists. “Be careful with fried eggs, yes fried eggs,” she says in her video published on the TikTok platform. We reveal what it’s all about.

An interesting phenomenon in Spain

The “fried eggs” that Polka draws attention to are nothing more than beautiful and characteristic jellyfish. Unfortunately, although they attract attention and look friendly, they are quite dangerous. Now they dominate the Marina Alta region. We can see them in places such as Benissa, Calpe, Teulada Moraira, Xàbia and Dénia. They appeared, among others, because of high temperatures and the lack of westerly winds.

The Polish woman points out that the problem is their large number. “The problem is that there are currently a lot of them all along the coast, which means it’s hard to get into the water and not have a jellyfish next to you. In real life – especially the slightly dead ones – they look a bit brown and it’s easy to mistake them for a stone,” the woman informed.

Jellyfish in Spain. Polish woman advises

The influencer pointed out that the so-called floating eggs do not pose a health risk, but touching them can result in a temporary burn or stinging of the skin. This is especially dangerous for children, who may have a harder time with such an incident than adults. “If you are not expecting them, such an encounter can be very traumatic,” warned the Polish woman, recalling her own adventure with these creatures.

On a special map visible in the video, we can see that jellyfish can be expected from Cartagena to Alicante. It turns out that current information on this subject can be tracked even on a special application. “If you feel like swimming, I recommend the beach in Valencia,” the Polish woman advised. She informed that it is not the cleanest, but it is safe.

The jellyfish in question are called cotylorhiza tuberculata and are very colorful. They have 8 short oral arms with blue or purple pendants. When we look at them from above, we may have the impression that we are dealing with the aforementioned fried egg. Have you ever seen them live?
