Polish volleyballers with an important promotion at the World Cup. Rivals were crushed!
Very probably 3: 0 the Polish volleyball team dealt with Qatar at the World Cup. The Poles thus secured their promotion to the 1/8 final of the tournament in the Philippines.
Coach Nikola Grbić, compared to the first match against Romania (winning 3: 0), made two corrections in the initial composition. Kewin Sasak began on the attack, and Kamil Semeniuk in the role of the host. Captain Bartosz Kurek and Tomasz Fornal remained in a square for the reserve.

Looking at the FIVB ranking, the Polish team should theoretically wait a more difficult battle than during the inauguration against Romania. The Romanian team is currently in the 24th place, but Qatar is 22. The strength of world volleyball. However, if you take into account that Poles have been leaders of this list for several months, it was immediately known where to see the favorite in Monday’s confrontation. The runners -up of the world (2022) translated the ranking numbers into field events.
The first batch of Monday meeting was the most even. The Poles started with running 5: 2, but after a few minutes it got 13:14. Then coach Grbić asked for a break on demand. A few stronger words were enough for a moment on the scoreboard – after Wilfredo Leon’s service ace – to be 15:14 for Poland. Ultimately, Poles took this set on quiet lead and win 25:21.
In the second installment, the Serbian trainer began to change positions. Artur Szalpuk (changed Leon) received his time, and in time – in the third installment – Maksymilian Granieczny (for a ash), Szymon Jakubiszak (for Jakub Kochanowski) and Jakub Nowak (for Norbert Huber). Importantly, Poles maintained a safe advantage, consistently realizing the assumptions. In addition, the difference between a clash with Romania and Qatar was that the Polish team avoided their own, unforced mistakes. There were not even in the play element, which was at the inagulation of the 2025 World Cup performed by Poles.
Looking at personal corrections, it seems that Kamil Semeniuk was the most qualitative player on the Polish side.
Poland with a set of points and without losing a set is the leader of group B. and, what is important, Poles secured their promotion to the 1/8 finals of the World Cup.
Where and when to watch the next match of the Polish volleyball team?
There was another match to the Poles to close the group playing. This Wednesday (i.e. September 17) Poland will play with the Netherlands. So an opponent who has also recorded a set of points in two matches so far. The Dutch defeated 3: 1 runny nose and 3: 0 Romania.
The match for 1st place in group B will start at 12:00 Polish time. Four hours earlier (i.e. 8:00), on the same day, at the same rate – only in group G – Turks and Canadians will play. It is important because in the 1/8 finals these two groups will cross, so it will be an interesting clash from a Polish perspective. Let’s add that after two queues from the 2025 World Cup, the Japanese said goodbye. The Asian team lost to both Turkey and Canada – not getting even one set.
