Polish tourists will turn away from Croatia? This entry caused extreme emotions

“Can anyone tell me what is happening to these prices?” – asked his observers a popular photographer promoting the beauty of Croatia. One of the top directions for the summer this year may be more expensive again.
Croatia a year ago was in the top 10 of the favorite directions of Polish tourists. Airlines regularly spoil customers with discounts on flights, including to Dubrovnik, Split or Zadar. But will it be just as cheap on the spot? Fears are quite justified.
Prices in Croatia up
Prices in Croatia have recently increased faster than in Greece, Spain and Italy. The etias.com portal reports that in a few years they increased here by about half, compared to an average of 15-20 percent. increases in countries on the Mediterranean.
In recent months, it was more difficult for residents who boycotted shopping in selected supermarkets at the beginning of February. The concerns also concern the impact on tourism. Officials and entrepreneurs are worried that guests from foreign countries will start looking for other directions in search of better offers.
Some have doubts whether the gliding prices only result from the economic situation. Photographer Timota Gosev, whose family comes from Croatia, recently caused a storm on Instagram, posting a post with forecasted prices for the summer 2025. On slides we can see that tourists can spend … up to 300 euros on a simple dinner for two people (over PLN 1250) and 22.50 euros for a huge ice cream knob (nearly PLN 100). The author explained that this is a sarcastic entry that is to publicize the problem, but in the comments he met with understanding.
They are joking from increases. “Greed”
“I am a Croatian and I hope that no one will come and get a lesson. It has nothing to do with the euro area, but greed,” wrote one of the users.
“We were in Split and Hvara last summer, we spent 19 euros on two double scoops (about 80 PLN). I’m sorry, but … two flavors of ice cream in Italy cost a maximum of 4 euros,” wrote another user.
Others toned emotions. “You had to go to strange places, last summer I paid 2.5 euros for a really large portion of ice cream in a great ice cream parlor in Split.” The same person added that prices in Croatia have increased, but they are comparable to those in Western Europe, and the inhabitants cope as they can, taking into account low salaries. “I really hope the government will take action to fix this situation,” she added.
Also the author of a satirical entry about the parsley encouraged to buy with his head, and calmly compare the prices of services (e.g. tourist cruises, on different pages). However, a quick decrease in the popularity of this country is unlikely. This year he took a high place in the European Best Destinations ranking 2025.
