Polish tourists broke the record in the Czech Republic. These directions are becoming more and more fashionable

Pardubice

More and more tourists from Poland travel to the Czech Republic. For the first time in history, we visited our southern neighbors in greater numbers than Slovaks. Which regions grew the most dynamically?

The Czech Tourism Office CzechTourism announced that in 2025 the number of guests from Poland amounted to 939,926, which means an increase of 11.9%. year to year. This allowed Poland to advance to second place among foreign markets – behind Germany and, for the first time in history, ahead of Slovakia. The next places were taken by the United States, Great Britain and Italy. The number of overnight stays provided to Polish guests grew even more dynamically – a total of 1,874,195 reservations, an increase of almost 13.4%.

What to visit in the Czech Republic? Not only Prague

In the last year, the most dynamic increase in interest among Poles was recorded in:

  • Pardubice Region, with the Czech “gingerbread capital” (+37%)

  • South Bohemian Region (+32%). The latter attracts tourists, among others: to Ceske Budejovice and the picturesque town of Cesky Krumlov.

  • Zlín Region (+19%), described as the most traditional part of the Czech Republic

For comparison, Prague recorded an increase of +10%. Despite this, the Czech capital remains the most popular destination among Polish guests and accounts for 41%. stays. Prague generates a total of almost 19 million overnight stays, or 32%. all overnight stays in the country.

“Guests from Poland are very welcome in the Czech Republic. We are glad that Poles want to get to know the Czech Republic more and more deeply. Tourist exchange between the Czech Republic and Poland is today a real race of mutual love,” emphasizes Tomáš Zukal, director of CzechTourism Polska.

A big change since 2012

For Poles, the Czech Republic is no longer just a destination for a short trip. Longer stays are becoming more and more popular, and tourists from Poland appreciate the convenience, rich offer and the opportunity to discover new, less obvious regions. CzechTourism reminds that in 2012, Poland ranked only 6th among foreign markets. Since then, the number of arrivals from Poland has increased by as much as 122%. – the most among all markets (except Russia).

Guests from the Middle East are increasingly eager to visit our southern neighbors. In 2025, arrivals from Israel (+33%) and the United Arab Emirates (+30%) also grew particularly dynamically in the Czech Republic. The main reasons include a diverse offer of monuments and attractions, as well as the image of the Czech Republic as a safe and tolerant country.
