Orlen Cup Łódź 2025: Jakub Szymański with a great Polish record!
Already before the start of Saturday’s show myth in Łódź it was known that Szymański was going to aim high, in breaking the record – perhaps the competition themselves. However, as it turned out, the Pole showed a great final run, which was actually the main course, looking at the results of the other participants.
The second at the finish Damian Czykier ran with a time of 7.50 – thus creating a minimum for the indoor world championships. The third was Krzysztof Kiljan, with a result of 7.57 – a life record – also qualifying for HMŚ and the European Indoor Championships. The fifth at the finish line Michał Sierocki with a time of 7.77 – also beat his life at this distance. The Łódź audience could applaud such a successful start of Poles.
During the competition in Łódź, Pia Skrzyszowska did a bit worse. The polka quite unexpectedly failed to win the final competition, also at 60 m by fences. The Polish woman took only third place, getting a time of 8.02 s. What for the capabilities of one of the best Polish athletes, specializing in running, is certainly far from expectations.
Konrad Bukowiecki wrote an important victory on his account, in the absence of his injured wife Natalia (née Kaczmarek), he won in the Kulomiotów competition. The Pole reached the result of 20.95 m. Ewa Swoboda (7.13 at 60 m) and a talented high jumper Maria Żodzik, jumping 1.90 m.
On the side of losers, you can save Piotr Lisk in a pole vault.
