Klaudia Zwolińska caused quite a stir during the Olympic Games, winning a silver medal in whitewater kayaking. The athlete from Nowy Sącz quickly revealed to fans that her beloved medal would not be with her for much longer. She would rather have it help raise money for charity.

A few weeks after receiving the medal, Klaudia Zwolińska informed on social media that she had put the disc from the capital of France up for charity. It is in the fight against cystic fibrosis. On a well-known auction site, you can become the owner of an extraordinary prize. Up until the time of publication of the text, the highest bid is less than 23 thousand złoty. Those interested can try to fight for the win in the auction until Monday, September 16.

“My silver Olympic medal is now available for auction for the Polish Cystic Fibrosis Society. A moving moment not only for me but for the entire community of people with ‘Muco’. I ask everyone to support the auction on social media, clicking works wonders,” the Olympic vice-champion wrote on social media.

Polish athletes give away medals to charity

Klaudia Zwolińska is not the first Olympic medalist to decide to say goodbye to her Olympic medal in order to raise funds for charity. In the past, the Olympic vice-champion in javelin throw Maria Andrejczyk took a similar step. In turn, Wojciech Fortuna sold his medal from Sapporo to support the treatment of Nick Fairall and Natalia Czerwonka.

Born in 1998, Klaudia Czerwonka is a medalist not only of the Olympic Games, but also of the European Games, World and European Championships.
