Lakes and beaches in Poland interest almost everyone, especially when the weather is sunny. There is no shortage of rays in March, so it’s a good opportunity to remind you about the perfect hit for a quiet holiday.
It’s about the reservoir, which some people jokingly call the “Polish Miami”. Although at first glance it has nothing to do with the huge metropolitan center of Florida (USA), something about it makes you sometimes feel like you are in a large agglomeration with beautiful sandy beaches. Get to know the “Polish Miami”
The Cieszanowski Reservoir, because it was named after the foreign gem, is a huge dam reservoir on the Luciąża River in Piotrków County. In Poland, it is mainly known by the inhabitants of Piotrków Trybunalski, Łódź and the surrounding areas, but even the inhabitants of Warsaw are close to it – less than 2.5 hours away by car.
On site there is the second largest water reservoir in Piotrków County, created in 1998, with a water surface area of 217 ha and a capacity of 7.34 million m³. The views are stunning – from green, to golden shades of sand, to blue.

Zalew Cieszanowski offers this to tourists
The Cieszanowski Lagoon is described as unusual and reminiscent of Miami by many local websites, including: tulodz.pl. In summer – from June to August, we can use the swimming area there, supervised by lifeguards, while the beaches are perfect for sunbathing – especially the one on the side of the village of Mierzyn.
Local attractions include jet skis, on which you can easily sail across the great water, all surrounded by picturesque, forested landscapes. Sailboats and pedal boats are also popular. For years, the surrounding summer houses have also been impressive, where you can stay for longer and close to the coastline. While in the area, it is worth visiting, among others: the city of Cieszanowice with the park at the Zaremba manor entered in the register of monuments.
In the high season, sandy shores filled with windbreaks and deckchairs remind some people of crowded resorts in Florida. The place also has quite a party character, which is also typical of Miami. Currently, “Polish Miami” has 4.3 stars on Google, and Internet users rate it rather positively. “The place under the oak tree has a wide beach and parking spaces, in summer wide beaches are at your fingertips, and in winter you can go swimming,” we read in one of the comments.
