Katarzyna Niewiadoma-Phinney (CANYON//SRAM) turned out to be the best, winning the stage and taking the yellow jersey as the leader of the entire race. It is worth recalling that the Pole reached for the final triumph in the Great Loop in 2024.

The Polish two-wheel champion was clearly moved after her success on Friday, stage number 7 of this year’s Tour de France Femmes. The new leader of the race was not ashamed of her tears. Particular emotion was visible already on the podium, when Niewiadoma-Phinney clearly gave vent to her great emotions.

Which, of course, is completely understandable.

The three-time Olympian (2016, 2020 and 2024) once again proved what a classy athlete she is. What can be hidden, in the case of Niewiadoma-Phinney, we are talking about the highest quality in the world.

There are only two days left until the end of this year’s Great Loop. On Saturday (i.e. August 8) the longest stage of this year’s edition. As much as 171.9 km from Sisteron to Nice. Niewiadoma-Phinney, after a huge success in Friday’s test, has a 15-second advantage over the second in the general classification – Dutchwoman Demi Vollering.
