On Sunday evening, the Polish national football team will play away against Lithuania. The match played in Kaunas will certainly attract many fans from Poland.

Up to 4,000 Polish fans are expected to appear in the stands of the stadium, who traditionally travel to the farthest corners of Europe and the world to support the Polish national team. A trip to Kaunas is tempting because it is not far, considering the geographical location. Hence the strong state of readiness on the part of the locals.

Lithuanians remember the year 2011, when a friendly match with the participation of the Polish national team was organized in Kaunas. Then the hosts beat the Poles quite sensationally 2-0. Interestingly, Robert Lewandowski played in the first team of the Polish team in that March match.

Dissatisfied Polish fans vented their frustration in Kaunas, and the locals counted the losses that remained in their memory, and although almost 15 years have passed since those events, Lithuanians certainly do not want a repetition.

– We have a record number of security personnel on standby in recent years. Moreover, Polish fans will be separated by fences. There will be thorough checks when entering the stadium, said the head of the Lithuanian Football Federation, Edgaras Stankevicius.

Before the match starts, Polish fans are planning a march. And the day before, as you can see in the attached pictures, it was already noisy on the streets of Kaunas.

The Lithuania-Poland match will take place on Sunday, October 12. The match will start at 20:45, the venue will be the stadium in Kaunas. It is worth adding that in the first match of both teams, at the PGE Narodowy, the hosts were slightly better (1-0), winning after a goal scored by Robert Lewandowski.
