Polish driver crashes coach in Italy, leaves 3 passengers in serious condition, one dead

On Sunday, August 4, a tragic accident occurred on an Italian motorway. A vehicle driven by a 60-year-old Pole hit the barriers.

A trip from Rome to Florence organized for Chinese tourists ended tragically. At around 4:45 p.m. on the A1 motorway in Arezzo, the coach suddenly drove into a ditch and then hit a protective barrier with great force. The exact cause of the accident is not yet known. It is known that the barrier penetrated the front of the vehicle, all the way to the passenger cabin.

According to the local website “Arezzo Notizie”, one person died in the accident and 24 were injured. The three most seriously injured people, including a minor, were transported to hospitals by helicopter. The condition of one of the injured is very serious.

The vehicle was occupied by Chinese citizens, the driver was a 60-year-old Pole. The Chinese consulate reported that the deceased was a tour guide. Italian media emphasize that the citizen of our country suffered minor injuries. The services took a blood sample from him to make sure that he was sober at the time of the incident.

RMF FM reported that the Polish Association of Coach Carriers confirmed the information about the vehicle. The coach belonged to a Polish company.
