The league phase of the UEFA Conference League in the 2025/26 season begins on Thursday, October 2. Poland has four representatives in the European Cup.

There is no doubt that in recent seasons, clubs originating from the PKO BP Ekstraklasa have begun to come to the fore in the context of the third international club competition in the UEFA hierarchy. Conference League for a place in which Poland plays a significant role. There are many indications that it will be similar in the 2025/26 season that is just opening. There is a quartet in the game: Lech Poznań, Jagiellonia Białystok, Raków Częstochowa and Legia Warszawa.

UEFA Conference League: As many as four PKO BP Ekstraklasa representatives!

Who can you expect the best results from? It seems that each team can make a nice surprise in the form of playing for high goals, looking at the rivals that the top league representatives will have. Although it is not that these will be easy crossings, because on the horizon there are, among others: representatives from the French league (Strasbourg), the Spanish league (Rayo Vallecano) and the German league (FSV Mainz).

It is worth recalling that in the previous season of the Conference League, Jagiellonia and Legia played in the quarterfinals of the competition. Ultimately, both Ekstraklasa players ended their participation at this stage, and interestingly, the winners of the two matches later played in the grand final. The Spanish Betis (defeated Jaga) and the English Chelsea (better than Legia) faced each other for the title. The final at the Tarczyński Arena in Wrocław was won by the Londoners.

Looking at the UEFA club ranking, the highest-ranked Polish team is Legia Warszawa, in 68th place. Lech is in 93rd position, Jagiellonia in 101st, and Raków 153rd. What is extremely valuable, Poland is the only nation – apart from the strongest leagues (England, Italy, Spain, Germany, France, the Netherlands) – that still has full representatives in the European cups. And this can provide a lot of benefits in the context of fighting for the best possible UEFA ranking. The chance to leapfrog the Danes, Norwegians, and even Greeks and Czechs does not seem impossible at all. As usual, however, you will need regular, solid scoring. Hence, apart from the fight for UEFA prize money, virtually every match of the Polish team will have a lot of importance in the context of the next seasons and the opportunities that are opening up.
