200 companies expressed interest in conducting a shortened working time, and over 1000 is in the process of completing the application – said the head of the labor department Agnieszka Dziemianowicz -Bąk on TVN24. The recruitment of documents will end in mid -September.

On August 14, the recruitment of applications for pilot shortening of working time in Poland started. It provides for testing various models of short working time. This may be a reduction in the number of working days per week, reducing the number of working hours on individual days, reducing the number of working hours through additional days off a month or granting additional days off in the form of holiday leave.

At the end of the previous week, the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy announced that in the first week of recruitment for the pilot of short working time, 150 complete applications came, and another 694 is in the system during preparation.

Today, the head of the ministry Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk provided the latest data on TVN24. They show that interest in piloting is growing overnight. – Recruitment for the pilot started on August 14, lasts until September 15, and we already have nearly 200 complete submitted applications. There are over 1000 applications in the process of filling, because we can watch it in the generator, so interest is huge – she said in “Facts after the facts” of the Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy.

The submitted projects must include at least half of the employees employed with a given employer, guarantee the maintenance of remuneration and employment stability.

The recruitment will last until September 15, and the list of qualified projects will be announced until October 15, 2025 this year. What next? – By the end of the year, the preparatory phase and all year 2026 is testing various models of shortening working time. At the beginning of 2027, summary, collecting these results, because the pilot of short working time while maintaining remuneration, i.e. (…), above all, a great research undertaking – the head of the labor department emphasized on TVN24.

Dziemianowicz-Bąk pointed out that her ministry wants to check what model of shortening working time works in individual industries, enterprises, which “is sewn tailored to what company”, as well as what barriers need to be eliminated to shorten working time in Poland.
