Poles want the Olympic Games in Poland? Surprising survey results

Summer Olympic Games in Poland in 2040. This is an idea recently mentioned by Minister Sławomir Nitras. What is the public mood towards this vision?

The SW Research agency conducted a study for Wprost.pl at the beginning of November, asking a simple question about the idea of ​​organizing the Olympic Games in Poland – in the summer edition – in 2040. The perspective is relatively long, but such events, the largest in the history of sports, must be thought about well in advance.

When asked “Do you support the idea of ​​organizing the Summer Olympic Games in Poland in 2040?”, the majority were positive about this proposal. Looking at this issue in percentage terms, over 45% of people in Poland said “yes” to the Olympic Games 2040. If the answer was “no”, just over 36 percent Additionally, the group of undecided people amounted to 18.2%.

When comparing the sexes, the differences are small in favor of men. Men answered “yes” in percentage terms: 47.8%. For women it was 43.6%.

Interestingly, the greatest “yes” optimism in age categories is among those interviewed up to 24 years of age. As many as 60.3 percent said “yes” and 27.3 percent said “no”. However, people over 50 years of age are least positively disposed to the Olympic idea. 32.3% answered “Yes” and as many as 45% “No”.

The education perspective is also interesting. Among people with primary/lower secondary schooling, 56.6% said yes, and only 25.9% said no. In terms of supporters, it looks quite good in the case of higher education: 42.5 percent. “yes” and 38.2 percent “for no.” However, those who have basic vocational education are strict. In Poland, 38.6% are in favor of IO 2040, while 43% are against it.
