Two-thirds of Poles believe that the price of fuel in Poland may exceed PLN 10/l in the near future – according to a survey by SW Research for “Wprost”.

This week marks two weeks since the abolition of the Lower Fuel Prices (CPN) package. Back 23 percent VAT rates on fuels (the package assumed a reduction to 8%) immediately translated into an increase in prices at gas stations. Above all, diesel prices are rising dramatically. As data from e-petrol.pl show, in recent days the average nationwide price of diesel has increased by 14 groszy and today you pay an average of PLN 8.89 per liter. Thus – as analysts emphasize – the historical record was broken.

– Problems with the availability of diesel fuel caused by limited oil processing and physical fuel supplies from the Middle East mean a huge blow to the wallets of Polish drivers – indicate e-petrol experts.

The price of the popular “95” is approaching PLN 8/l. Are we facing a scenario where we will soon pay PLN 10 per liter for fuel? It turns out that many Poles do not rule out such a scenario. This is proven by the latest survey by SW Research for “Wprost”.

Two thirds of Poles are afraid of fuel costing “ten tenners”

To the question: “Do you think the price of fuel in Poland may exceed PLN 10/l in the near future?” as many as two thirds of respondents (66%) answered affirmatively. 14.8 percent respondents do not expect this to happen, and nearly one fifth of respondents (19.3%) answered “it’s hard to say.”
