Poles segregate rubbish. One group is particularly distinguished

Almost 80 percent Poles declare that he segregates garbage – according to the SW Research survey for “Wprost”. A group of seniors stands out in this respect.

For years, in Poland, a garbage segregation system has been in force, which in practice means that waste should be placed in specific containers:

  • Yellow containers – metals and plastics,

  • Blue containers – paper,

  • Green containers – glass,

  • Brown containers – bio -daddies

  • Gray containers – mixed waste.

At the beginning of this year a new container appeared, which is to be used to collect used clothing and textiles.

The SW Research studio in a survey for “Wprost” asked Poles if they segregated garbage. As many as 78.8 percent of respondents responded in affirmative, and only 1.9 percent of respondents admitted that they did not fulfill this obligation. 19.3 percent of respondents declared that segregates, but only some types of waste may be related to the fact that many people in the case of some products or packaging It has a problem with indicating the right container. or metal, so it should land in a yellow container.

The study shows that the garbage is most often segregated by the oldest participants of the study aged 50 plus (84.1 percent), as well as earning from 5000 to 7000 PLN net (83 percent). To the fact that they do not segregate relatively often they admitted “on hand” and village residents (8 percent each) earlier with partial segregation, the youngest respondents aged 18-24 (35 percent) said most often.
