Poles no longer want combustion cars? The results of the polls give food for thought

The number of electric car users is growing every year, and the vast majority of drivers do not plan to return to internal combustion vehicles. But what is still the biggest barrier to electromobility?
The Global Ev Driver Survey 2024 study, conducted by EV Klub Polska in cooperation with Global Ev Drivers’ Alliance (GEVA), showed that as much as 92 percent. electrics drivers around the world and 85 percent In Poland, an electric car would again choose. What’s more, only 1 percent globally surveyed and 2 percent In Poland, it declared a desire to return to a combustion car.
Satisfaction with the operation of electricians is at a very high level – 98 percent. users around the world and 94 percent In Poland, it declares the satisfaction of using electric vehicles.
The main barriers to the development of electromobility
Despite the dynamic increase in EV popularity, drivers point to key barriers inhibiting the development of electromobility. All over the world, the biggest problem is poorly developed fast charging infrastructure (23 %), long charging (19 %) and insufficient range of vehicles (15 %).
In Poland, these challenges are even more noticeable. The main obstacles are:
-
Long charging time – 44 percent
-
No extensive charger network – 38 percent
-
The need to plan travel routes – 30 percent
The study shows that as much as 46 percent Polish drivers meet with queues to the charging station, which shows the urgent need for further development of infrastructure.
Key reasons for choosing electric cars
In Poland, financial aspects are the main motivation to choose an electric vehicle. In the first place there is a lower operating cost (47 percent), followed by low maintenance costs (35 percent). Privileges such as free parking (33 %) and driving comfort (25 %) also play a big role.
Against the background of global trends, Poland is distinguished by a less importance of ecological arguments – this difference is as much as 23 percentage points. This is due to the pragmatic approach of Poles who are primarily guided by economic benefits.
How to speed up the development of electromobility?
To increase the adoption of electric vehicles, it is necessary:
-
Development of fast charging infrastructure, especially charging hubs on the main communication routes.
-
Reducing EV use costs, including the introduction of special energy tariffs for electric car owners.
-
Increasing access to cheaper charging at home and at public stations.
– Electrification of transport brings measurable economic and environmental benefits. However, it is crucial to provide users with access to cheap charging and further expansion of infrastructure – sums up Łukasz Lewandowski, CEO EV Klub Polska.
EV Klub Polska. Support for EV users
EV Klub Polska is the largest organization of electric car owners in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe. The club offers its members numerous benefits, such as charging discounts, discounts on service services and access to exclusive offers of partners supporting electromobility.
Does the future belong to electric cars? The results of the study indicate that the trend is irreversible – more and more drivers choose electromobility and do not plan to return to internal combustion cars.
