More and more Poles use subscription services, and most of them spend up to PLN 100 per month – according to the Santander Consumer Bank report.

Streaming platforms dominate, but the popularity of product supply is also growing. Why do Poles decide to subscribe and what benefits do they derive from them?

How many Poles use the subscription?

According to the Santander Consumer Bank report, as much as 62 percent Poles have at least one subscription. Most, because 38 percent Users spend from 51 to 100 PLN per month, and 70 percent It does not exceed spending of PLN 100.

However, not everyone is supporters of this model – 24 percent. respondents consider subscriptions unnecessary, and 6 percent abandoned them after prior use.

The most popular subscriptions

Among the available services, those related to entertainment dominate. As much as 86 percent subscribers use streaming platforms such as Netflix, Spotify or Max. Product services (59 percent) like Allegro Smart are in second place.

They are less popular:

  • Food ordering applications – 18 percent (Uber eats, volt),

  • Software packages – 17 percent (Microsoft Office 365),

  • Transport services – 11 percent (Bolt, Uber).

Preferences vary depending on age. Seniors (74 percent) most often choose subscriptions for the delivery of products, while people aged 40-49 willingly order food by applications (21 %), and thirty-year-olds (15 percent) use transport services.

Why do Poles choose subscriptions?

Subscriptions are valued primarily for the convenience and control of expenses. The most important benefits according to respondents are:

  • Fixed, predictable fee – 40 percent,

  • Discounts and promotions – 36 percent,

  • Lower cost compared to one -off purchases – 35 percent,

  • Possibility to give up at any time – 34 percent

For seniors, the most important is costs stability (67 %), and fifty -year -olds pay attention to savings (43 %). Among younger users, discounts and lack of long -term obligations are crucial.

Subscriptions. The future of shopping?

As emphasized by Patryk Perliński from Santander Consumer Bank, the subscription model changes relations between companies and consumers, offering convenience, personalization and control over expenses. Poles are more and more willing to choose subscriptions, valuing them for flexibility and the possibility of better budget planning.

The study was conducted by the CATI method at a sample of 1000 adult Poles buying online on November 10-14, 2024.
