Poles love these Italian cities. Now they are flooded, some of the attractions are closed

Florencja

We have already found out how sudden and intense downpours are in Poland more than once. This time the difficult flood situation affects Italy. Well -known cities have a serious problem.

The streets turned into streams, and important monuments and beautiful landscapes lost most of their splendor. This is how it has been in the Italian Tuscany region for several days, which includes Florence or Pisa. In addition, it is also difficult in Bologna, i.e. in the Emilia-Romania region.

Italy is fighting floods

Not only Poland knows what the fight against great water means, through which the normal life of residents and tourists turns into a nightmare. Italians fight mud and flooded cities. Importantly, the situation applies to the places beloved by tourists where crowds appear at any time of the year. This month, a trip to Florence or Pisa is better to translate in time and wait for the situation to calm down fully.

Flood messages are visible when we look at a given city, including in Google Maps. Where the worst is, there are red alerts with the inscription “Flood”. It is worth considering this when planning a trip to the north of Italy. Currently, the most important attractions are closed in many places, including Museums or bridges, and schools were closed in 60 municipalities. Some faculties of the Florentine University are also closed.

The flood situation in Italy has been ongoing for at least three days. On Friday, in Florence, 70 liters of rain per square meter fell in six hours, which is as much as it is usually recorded in a month. It was even worse in Vaglia. The effects of all of this are still visible today.

Fight for the fate of the inhabitants

The current situation saddens tourists, but even worse affects the locals. Emergency teams including firefighters are still trying to get to people imprisoned in flooded homes and in need of help. Until now, there have not been messages about fatalities, but it is known that a lot of rescue actions have been carried out.

For example, in the Valley of the SIEVE NURT River, he kidnapped a man, while a family of four from Badia Prataglia in Tuscany had to be saved from a landslide. There were more such cases. In Tuscan alone, 430 interventions were carried out within 24 hours.

It is also known that the president of the aforementioned region – Eugenio Giani – asked the government to recognize the state. Thanks to it, the region will be able to receive quick financial support.
