Poles have the final! A great victory and a problem for Nikola Grbcia
In three sets, Poland defeated Brazil in the semi -final of the League of Nations. Kewin Sasak played another great match, but unfortunately Tomasz Fornal suffered an injury.
One could ask yourself how Poles would present themselves in the clash with the team that won the intercontinental phase. Brazil took first place in the table, on the way, defeating, among others Team of coach Nikola Grbic. Poles lost 1: 3 during the Chicago tournament, but this type of failure is rather calculated in the long season of VNL.
League of Nations: Poles advanced to the final! Great performance of Kewin Sasak
When it came to the competition for a large tournament rate, the Polish volleyball team did not disappoint expectations again. It must be admitted, however, that although the meeting lasted three sets, it had a lot of drama. There was no shortage of twists, also those that we would certainly not like to watch in any match.
In the latter case, we are talking about an injury that Tomasz Fornal got in. At the beginning of the second set, the host of Polish women unfortunately landed after the attack, and his ankle bent unnaturally, which could be observed at the replays. However, the player wanted to return to the field to help the team. It succeeded so much that the Poles won the second set and had 2: 0 with a fornal composition. At the beginning of the third edition, the volleyball player himself asked for a change, feeling that he could only worsen his health situation. All the more, considering that after all on the horizon not only the VNL 2025 final, but also the upcoming September World Championships.
As for the game of Poles, another great match was played by Kewin Sasak. The attacker, who already delighted in the quarter -final clash with the Japanese, showed how certain it is in the puzzle of coach Grbic. And the absence of Bartosz Kurek, although certainly felt, does not have to be the biggest problem for the national team.
Sasak was the best scoring player on the Polish side. His high efficiency gave Marcin Komend, the playmaker, especially in difficult times when he needed to have a finished ball. Coach Grbić had to rotate the most in the admission element. Not only because of the Fornal injury, but also the fact that Wilfredo Leon had great problems with effectiveness. Ultimately, Kamil Semeniuk gave a good change, calming the party and showing up … 100 % effectiveness on the offensive (6/6).
Let’s note that the rightly complimented Sasak finished the match with the achievements of 19 points. With a cosmic effectiveness, at up to 81 percent!
VNL 2025: Poland – Italy for gold medals! When and where to watch the final?
In the final, Poles will play with Italy. The match will take place on Sunday (i.e. August 3) at 13:00 Polish time. Italians defeated Slovenians in the semi -final. It promises to be a repetition of the last finals of the world championships (Mount Italia 3: 1) from 2022 and the European Championships (POLSKA POLSKA 3: 0) from 2023.
European champion versus world champion? It promises to be a great volleyball feast! From 9:00 Polish time, Slovenes and Brazilians will play for brown VNL discs.
