Poles are as keen on camping as they are on all-inclusive holidays. The countries that are most popular for this type of holiday are Italy and Croatia. As Magda Zbijak from Sun Camp Polska says, even though this year’s camping season is coming to an end, we can still find places in Europe where we can use them. Although camping accommodation is sometimes a great option to reduce the costs of your trip, some campsites will surprise you with luxurious solutions.

Camping tourism in Poland and southern Europe

Although some people associate camping with a relic of the 1990s, popular campsites are doing quite well in the 21st century. Contrary to appearances, camping tourism is not dead in the era of all inclusive, and in some European countries it is becoming a real market leader. Although, according to Magda Zbijak from Sun Camp Polska, in our country this type of facilities still have a lot of catching up to do, abroad campsites are real luxurious “mini-cities”. You don’t always have to have your own trailer, camper or tent. Some campsites offer permanent accommodation in the form of cottages or tourist villas. Poles can expect the highest standard of camping in Italy and Croatia, and these were the destinations that travelers from our country chose most often last year.

– Italy and Croatia have been the most popular destinations for many years. Many customers also go to the French Côte d’Azur or Spain. When it comes to camping in Croatia, the infrastructure here is really very modern. Swimming pool complexes are being expanded, there are plenty of animations and sports attractions. For children, this is truly a dream vacation, where they can spend their free time perfectly. For parents, camping is a great comfort because children do not get bored. They give you much more freedom to relax. There is no time frame, here everyone starts the day at any time they want. It’s a holiday close to nature, says the representative of the holiday organizer.

Can you save money on a camping trip? Although it seems that an outdoor holiday should be cheaper than a luxury hotel, it is not always so obvious. – It is known that when camping here, you usually have to provide your own food. However, when comparing food prices in Poland and abroad, the prices in Europe are often even lower, especially in Italy. Such a holiday can be organized at a lower cost, but camping has become fashionable and their infrastructure has become more luxurious – he adds.

Winter camping is possible

The camping season in Europe has already ended in many countries. Despite this, we can still find places on the Old Continent that will welcome us also in November, December or January. – Campsites are usually open from April to the end of September, but there are also year-round campsites. You can look for such places, for example, in Spain, says Zbijak. If we dream of a short trip by car, we can also choose Slovenia, where we can also find a year-round facility. Terme Čatež on the border with Croatia is an aqua park with thermal, indoor pools open twelve months a year. – You can spend nice time there with your family, for example during the winter holidays – says the specialist.
