Over 38 percent Poles are well assessed by the presidential veto on the windmill act, but the almost identical percentage is of the opposite opinion – according to the SW Research survey for “Wprost”. One group is particularly talking about the veto of Karol Nawrocki.

A week has passed since the first veto of the new president. Last Thursday, Karol Nawrocki announced the veto of the so -called windmill act. The novella provided, among others The departure of the so -called Rules 10h and introduction of a minimum distance of 500 m between new wind turbines and residential buildings. Currently, this limit is 700 m.

The regulation includes a provision regarding the extension of freezing electricity prices until the end of the year. – There is one act that I decided to veto. The windmill act, because in fact we should call it, is a kind of blackmail of the parliamentary majority and the government. This act applies to windmills, not a reduction in electricity prices – This is how the president justified his veto.

Karol Nawrocki emphasized that he supported further freezing of energy prices and announced the submission of a bill in this case, which took place a few hours later.

The president’s decision caused an avalanche of comments. Minister of Energy Miłosz Motyk argued that the veto is a blow, among others in Polish families. – The veto of President Karol Nawrocki under a law guaranteeing low energy prices is a blow to Polish families, industry, energy security and the entire economy. The potential that cheap energy sources give should be unlocked. The president’s decision is actions against the interest of Polish women and Poles – the head of the energy ministry wrote on the platform x.

The president was defended by the head of his office Paweł Szefernaker. – First, they limited the shield to September 30, 2025, then in an unconstitutional way they attached the provisions of the shield to the windmill act, and now they are surprised that President Nawrocki defends Polish families against windmills 500 meters from their windows – wrote Szefernaker.

To the question: “How do you assess the veto of President Karol Nawrocki regarding the windmill act, which provides, among others, freezing energy prices until the end of the year?”, 38.6 percent. respondents answered “well”, but almost the same, because 38.2 percent. respondents assessed the president’s decision badly. Just over 23 percent respondents had no opinion on this matter.
