Poles can now settle personal income tax. This is what we fear
More than half of Poles do not hide that they are afraid of making a mistake when completing their PIT return for 2025 – according to a SW Research survey. The reason is, among others, growing confusion about regulations.
From February 15, Poles can submit tax returns for 2025. As the latest SW Research survey for “Wprost” shows, 72 percent of us settle accounts electronically, and just over 17 percent he does it the traditional way. Most often, people earning from PLN 5,000 to PLN 7,000 net (82.4%), as well as people with higher education and residents of cities with a population of 100,000-200,000, file electronic settlements. people (80.7% and 80.3% respectively).
A survey commissioned by PITax shows that nearly half of Poles intend to submit their annual settlement in February.
PIT 2025. Poles are afraid of making a mistake
It turns out that as many as 56 percent respondents admitted that they were afraid of making a mistake when completing the annual report. The reason for this state of affairs is, among others, growing confusion about regulations – 38 percent respondents admitted that they did not know whether the settlement rules had changed, which is an increase of 6 percentage points. compared to last year. Among the problems when settling PIT, respondents indicated, among others: difficulties in understanding tax breaks or complicated regulations.
The survey shows that half of us prefer to check available reliefs ourselves rather than trust the government system. 41 percent respondents prefer to seek support in this matter from independent tax advisors or free settlement programs.
– One of the reasons may be ignorance of available reliefs, which was declared by 33%. subjects. On the other hand, as many as 88 percent surveyed Poles would like to learn more about reliefs that could help them reduce their tax. The study was conducted on a representative group of 1,000 adult Poles using the CAWI method (online) on the SW Panel online panel. They were completed at the end of January 2026.
