Poles: Automatic blinds reduce power consumption. Realities: only 10 percent it has new buildings
74 percent Poles believe that automatic blinds and blinds realistically improve the energy efficiency of the building. It’s just that today in Poland only about 10 percent new buildings are equipped with automated covers.
Thanks to automation, automated external covers such as blinds, blinds or screenshots adapt to the season and sunlight – on hot days they leave to block excess heat, and in cooler periods they rise when the sun’s rays can heat up the interior.
In this way, they reduce the need to use air conditioning and heating, realistically limiting power consumption.
According to research, in the summer automatic covers can lower the temperature inside by up to 4-7 ° C – without the need to turn on the air conditioning. In turn, in winter they allow you to stop heat, providing savings on heating of 10-30%.
However, we still rarely use this type of solution in new investments. In Poland, only about 10%of new buildings are equipped with automated covers, while in France – 75%and nearly 40%in the Czech Republic.
The awareness of the benefits of home automation is high, however. According to the latest ASM study, on behalf of Somfa “The cheapest kWh is the one we will not use” 74 percent. Poles believe that automatic blinds and blinds realistically improve the energy efficiency of the building.
– This is a clear signal that the awareness and expectations of users are growing. Polish windows and covers meet the highest European standards. We export them to the most demanding markets, but it’s time for the same solutions to become the foundation of thermomodernization in Polish homes – emphasizes Krzysztof Majewski, Country Manager Somfy Polska.
The Polish window joinery industry belongs to the European leaders. In 2024, we produced as much as 12.6 million produced pieces. But most of them (three -quarters) go abroad, mainly to Germany, France and Italy, where the requirements for energy efficiency and automation are among the highest on the continent. It is abroad that Polish windows – usually in combination with modern, automatic shields – become an element of advanced, energy -saving investments.
The challenge of thermomodernization changes in Poland is the scale. According to the national plan to renovate buildings in Poland, there are over 15 million single -family and multi -family buildings, of which about 7.7 million requires comprehensive thermomodernization.
