Poles are increasingly buying used products. “They derive satisfaction …”
In the coming years, every third clothes bought in Poland will come second -hand – forecasts in its report OC & C Strategy Consultants. Our market is growing faster than French or British.
As the report of the international consulting company OC & C Strategy Consultants shows, Poles are more and more willing to buy second -hand products. Details are presented by “Rzeczpospolita”.
The data cited by the newspaper shows that in recent years the market for such products bought online increased annually by 34 percent. The forecasts presented in the report show that in 2029 every third element of wardrobe bought in our country will come second -hand. It is estimated that by this time the value of the Polish online market clothing will double to over EUR 3 billion.
Who usually buys second -hand products?
From the report we learn that used clothes on the web are most often bought by Poles in the age range 26-45 years (62 percent). However, not much lower percentage was recorded among the youngest, i.e. in the 18-25 age group (54 percent). Consumers choose the Second-Hand platforms due to the uniqueness of available products, the possibility of experimenting with style and growing ecological awareness.
– Although consumers have various motivations that convince them to buy used clothing, in Poland economic issues are still crucial. Customers like to hunt for bargains and often derive satisfaction from finding attractive price offers – comments Bartek Krawczyk, partner at OC & C Strategy Consultants.
Krawczyk points out that in recent years our market has grown much faster than markets in Western Europe, e.g. the French or British market.
The report states that the brands most frequently chosen by buyers on the Vinted platform in Poland include, among others H&M, Reserved, Sinsay, Pepco, Shein and KiK. Almost a third of platform users with used clothing visits them to review the offer. A similar percentage comes with the intention of finding a specific product.
