Pole is a European champion! This is how an athletics star was born

Jakub Szymański, 22 years old, reached for the gold medal of the European Indoor Championships. The Pole grows up to the Great Format Star.
Just before the finals of the men at 60 meters through the fences, ladies competed for medals. Pia Skrzyszowska won the first medal for Poland during HME 2025. The Polish woman reached for bronze, with her best time of this season – 7.83 seconds.
Jakub Szymański had the best time from the finalists, so you could expect a really solid result. A 22 -year -old Pole actually did not disappoint, gaining gold in Apeldoorn.
In the final race, Szymański confirmed that he was really very strong. The Pole, according to tradition, had problems on the last fence, but ultimately at the finish he was slightly better than his dangerous French competitor. Szymański came with a time of 7.43 p.
Importantly, although Szymański has already stood on the podium of important international events (including the Silver Medal HME 2023), gold won in Apeldoorn is a clear signal for the competition. The Pole withstanded the pressure related to expectations of number 1 as to the result lists.
HME: Polish national team with a favorable historical balance
Looking at the story, HME in athletics has been played since 1966. Under the name of the European Indoor Championships, from 1970 (previously the European Indoor Games). The Polish national team has a lot of traditions, checking in fifth in the medal classification of all time. Poland won a total of 215 medals, which was: 68 zlotys, 65 silver and 82 bronze.
The previous HME took place in 2023 in Turkey, more specifically in Istanbul. Two years earlier, i.e. in 2021, the event hosted in Poland, and the place of athletic struggles of the best athletes and athletes of the Old Continent was Toruń. Interestingly, during HME 2017 (Belgrade) and 2019 (Glasgow), Poland won in the general medal classification.
